History of bungee jumping

In the 1950's, footage had been taken from a man named David Attenborough and his crew at Pentecost Island in Vanuatu. They had captured footage of these young men who jumped off of tall wooden platforms with tree vines stapped to their ankles. These men were called "Land Divers".

The first bungee jumps that were made publicly were made on April 1st 1979. A group of Students form Oxford university, made a club that was called "The Dangerous Sports Club", in which the Oxford students made the club to do dangerous sports. On April first, the group of students tied their bungee cords to a solid object on the Clifton Suspention Bridge in Bristol. After jumping several times, the group of jumpers were quickly arrested for doing so. Although, they still continued with jumps from the Golden Gate to Royal Gorge Bridges. Causing sponsorship and making the sport known world wide.
In 1982, Bungyee jumping had been well known by everyone. The extreme sport had been forcased in movies such as James Bond and books from all around. The history of bungee jumping was simply some kids who wanted to do something that seemed crazy, and once they did, it became a nation wide spred.
Although there are very exhilerating things that happen while bungee jumping, there are a large amount of safty concerns. There have been many people who have been severly injured or killed performing this stunt. A big reason of the mishap is the fact that people don't measure and remeasure their lines before they jump. The bungee cord is suppost to be substancially smaller than the decent itself, if it's not then you will plummot to your death.
There are a lot of goods and bads but I think that if i were to die while bungee jumping, I think that it would be a lot better than dying in my death bed when i'm like 90. I want to die doing something that i love to do.
